This somewhat hastily-arranged shoot involved an early morning dash to B&Q in East London for wallpaper and a staple gun. I knew the space in which we were working and a few of the actors and the show (sort of) . Working with natural light and a key light on a monopod held aloft by whichever actor wasn't being pinned into (most of a) costume, this was an adrenaline'n'Haribo affair. As each actor came forward we had to quickly establish who they were, their defining characteristics, and what was their relationship to the others (for subsequent group shots ). We needed to capture something from each of them to act as a shorthand for the drama, ready to share across social media, and that could also hang together within the show programme, which I would be designing the following week. Phew....
