The original production used the two main characters in cartoon form, sitting within, upon, or beneath a yellow moon that formed the C of Crazy. So, it was decided that this production's photography would have a heightened "cartoon" feel and the publicity materials would nod to the original promotion but almost a "live action version" feel. An intense photoshoot – with over 27 actors, not quite enough costume, and lighting and backdrop (homemade star cloth) dragged across London to my favourite rehearsal hall/ad hoc photographic studio – this was back-breaking stuff, but I nailed enough images for posters, flyers and programme and a full-on digital campaign .
Back to the Crazy
After being locked down for so long it was amazing to be back working with a big group of people for a speedily put together photoshoot for a non professional production of "Crazy For You" - a show first performed in 1991 but with a "golden age of Broadway" feel, based, as it is, on the songs of George and Ira Gershwin .
